Hong Kong (3 July 2019)—The board of Freetech Road Recycling Technology (Holdings) Limited (“Freetech”, or the “Group;” stock code: HK.6888), a leading asphalt pavement maintenance (the “APM”) integrated solution provider, is pleased to announce that Prof. Tong Wai Cheung has been appointed as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 2 July 2019.
Prof. Tong, PhD, FASME, FHKEng, JP, aged 66, has a teaching experience of over 30 years in universities in Hong Kong and United States. Prof. Tong was the President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from 2009 to 2018 and Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at The George Washington University, United States. Being an expert in the field of heat transfer, Prof. Tong has published over 80 technical articles. He is a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences and the International Thermal Conductivity Conference.
Prof. Tong has been a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference since 2012. He is also actively engaged in public service in Hong Kong. He is currently Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations of Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption, a member of the Committee of 100 and Board of Counselors of the International Institute of Management, and Chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Laureate Forum. Prof. Tong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University, United States, and a Master’s and a Doctoral degree in the same discipline from the University of California, Berkeley, United States.
